The e-reader market is on fire lately. Readers and reviewers alike love the Kindle Paperwhite. Meanwhile, Barnes & Noble just dropped the price of its excellent Nook GlowLight to $ 119. Not to be left out of the e-reader battle, Kobo announced the availability of its new Glo and Mini readers.
On Friday, Kobo announced avability of the Kobo Glo and the Kobo Mini e-readers at select retail stores in Canada and the U.K. Kobo promised an October release of its new e-reader line in September.
The Kobo Glo is Kobo’s answer to the Kindle Paperwhite and Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight. The reader has a 6-inch e-ink XGA screen Pearl e-ink front-lit screen and is currently available for $ 130 (in Canada and Britain).
The 4- by 5.2-inch pocket-sized Kobo Mini e-reader is the tiny reader for on-the-go reading. This is the official e-reader for hoodie pockets. It’s currently available for $ 80 (in Canada and Britain).
So far, no word on the exact date of the U.S. release of the Kobo e-readers.
